A collision involving multiple transport trucks reduced traffic to a crawl Wednesday afternoon along a busy stretch of road leading to the Ambassador Bridge.

The Windsor collision between four transport trucks occurred at around 2 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Huron Church Road near Girardot Street.

Windsor police, firefighters and paramedics converged on the scene.

Photos from a Star photographer show the front ends of three trucks heavily damaged, including one hauling another truck that appears to have collided with the vehicle it was towing, triggering a chain-reaction crash.

Windsor police had traffic reduced to one lane and was advising motorists to avoid the area. All lanes were reopened by early evening after the vehicles were cleared from the scene.

No physical injuries were reported.
