Miramax Lands Spec ‘I Can See You’re Angry’ From Brandon Cohen, With BoulderLight Pictures Producing

EXCLUSIVE: In a competitive situation, Miramax has landed the hot spec I Can See You’re Angry from writer Brandon Cohen. Barbarian producer BoulderLight Pictures will produce the comedy. The studio beat out several suitors for the spec.
Plot details being kept under wraps, but the spec is described as a high-concept R-rated comedy in the vein of Wedding Crashers and There’s Something About Mary.
Miramax and BoulderLight already have strong ties after the former tapped the latter to co-produce a remake of The Faculty, with Robert Rodriguez joining as a producer with Companion writer Drew Hancock penning.
BoulderLight has been on a roll as of late starting with the horror comedy Companion, which bowed in January and starred Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid. Next up is the A24 dark comedy Friendship coming this spring. That film stars Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd and premiered at last fall’s Toronto Film Festival.
Cohen and BoulderLight are repped by Range.
