Martin O’Hagan: Man arrested over LVF murder of journalist

A 42-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of the journalist Martin O’Hagan.

Mr O’Hagan, who was a journalist for the Sunday World newspaper, was shot dead by the Loyalist Volunteer Force (LVF) in Lurgan, County Armagh, in 2001.

A man was arrested in Sheffield on Thursday morning with the assistance of Counter Terrorism Policing North East and South Yorkshire Police.

He has been transported to Northern Ireland for questioning in the serious crime suite at Musgrave Police Station in Belfast.
